Place orange juice and seltzer (or lemon-lime soda) in tall, thin glass. Gently stir. Fill with ice.
Garnish with thin slice of blood orange. Serve.
Note: Blood or moro oranges have red-streaked flesh. The juice is almost as red as tomato juice. While somewhat hard to find, blood oranges do grow on dooryard trees in Florida and are now commercially grown in California; they can be found in some supermarket produce sections in the winter and sell for a premium. If unavailable, add a teaspoon or less of grenadine to regular orange juice and put a drop of grenadine on orange slice.
Please note that some ingredients and brands may not be available in every store.
